About Udayadityavarman I
Born 950. Udayadityavarman I was a monarch.
Udayadityavarman I was the king of Angkor who reigned from 1001 to 1002 AD.
Maternal nephew of his predecessor Jayavarman V (968 – 1001), he reigned only for a few months. His death triggered a nine-year civil war, a length recorded by the inscription K.834 from Tuol Don Srei. Two rivals were consecrated in the following year. Jayavirahvarman, a prince of the royal family, held Yaśodharapura and the western regions, while Suryavarman I held the east and eventually took the throne.
