In addition to painting, he was a draughtsperson who produced engravings, woodcuts, and lithographs. His subjects included genre scenes and military imagery and ethnographic illustrations. the National Gallery of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum, the Louvre in Paris, among other venues.
