Born 1938. Terry Copp is a Canadian historian.
John Terry Copp (born 1938) is a Canadian military historian and Professor Emeritus at Wilfrid Laurier University and is the co-founder and former Director of the Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada. As of 2024, Copp is a member of the Order of Canada.
Copp was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. He was educated at Sir George Williams University (BA) and McGill University (MA), Copp first published The Anatomy of Poverty: The Condition of the Working Class in Montreal, 1897β1929 in 1974. He later moved to Wilfrid Laurier University where he co-founded the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies in 1991, which was later renamed the Laurier Centre for the Study of Canada. He founded the journal Canadian Military History.
