Lived 1905 – 1989 (aged 83–84). Stavro Skëndi was an Albanian and Turkish historian and albanologist.

Stavro Skëndi (1905 in Korçë – August 17, 1989 in Long Island) was an Albanian-American linguist and historian.

Career Skendi was an academic at Columbia University between 1951 and 1972. While at Columbia, he received a Guggenheim Fellowship during 1963. Outside of Columbia, Skendi went to the Institute for Advanced Study as a Visiting Fellow.
