About Shīdámó Típó
Shīdámó Típó was a seventh-century ruler of Xiū Luó Fēn, a polity of mainland Southeast Asia known only from Chinese records. He is named in the Cefu Yuangui in the entry describing his kingdom, and is the only ruler of it on record; nothing is known of his predecessor, his successor or the length of his reign. The same source records the tribute mission of 665, its arrival falling in the fifth month, when the three polities appeared together with missions from Yufo, Mola and Sanpu; the envoy of Gē Luó Shě Fēn had set out nine years earlier, in 656. Tatsuo Hoshino reads that grouping as one of shared customs and military organisation rather than of proximity or alliance, since on his own reconstruction the three lay far apart. whereas the New Book of Tang reports a lower figure of 20,000 soldiers. and notes that the annals praise as excellent warriors the fighting men of Xiū Luó Fēn and of the polity he calls Śrī Canāśapura, which is his own identification of Gē Luó Shě Fēn.
