Sebastián Eyzaguirre

Sebastián Jorge Eyzaguirre Rodríguez (born 26 March 1978), commonly known as Cuchillo, is a Chilean journalist, television presenter and producer.

He became known for his work on the Chilean edition of Caiga quien caiga (CQC), initially as a reporter and later as a presenter. His career has included work in television, radio and the production of current-affairs programmes.

Eyzaguirre has attracted controversy at various points throughout his media career, particularly in connection with his public statements and conduct both on and off television. In 2024, he was convicted of repeated mistreatment of his former partner Lorena Vargas.

His direct interviewing style and involvement in confrontational segments made him one of the recognizable reporters associated with CQC during the 2000s. Over the course of his career, he has also had public disputes with former CQC colleagues Nicolás Larraín and Gonzalo Feito.

Biography Eyzaguirre was born in Santiago, Chile, on 26 March 1978, into a family of four siblings. He is the son of businessman Víctor Eyzaguirre García-Huidobro and Elena Rodríguez Donoso.

His mother lived for a period in Argentina during the government of the Popular Unity coalition (1970–1973), led by President Salvador Allende. His family subsequently maintained ties with Argentina, which Eyzaguirre has cited as an influence on his communication style.

He attended the Colegio del Verbo Divino and later studied journalism at Finis Terrae University.

He remained with CQC until 2010. His departure came during a restructuring of the programme ahead of its 2011 season, when several members of its on-air team left and Mega sought to renew its cast. During this period, Eyzaguirre developed Vidas, an interview programme originally broadcast by Canal 13 Cable. He subsequently continued his career as a television and radio presenter.

During the following years, he hosted other television formats. These included Códigos on UCV Televisión and, during the second half of the 2010s, the talk programme Malas Compañías on Vive TV, which he presented alongside other television personalities. He left Malas Compañías in 2017 after moving abroad for a period.

Eyzaguirre returned to CQC when the format was revived in Chile in late 2017, this time working as both a presenter and reporter. The revival was broadcast by Chilevisión.

Sin filtros From 2021, Eyzaguirre became involved in the production of the Chilean political debate programme Sin filtros. Through his company, he worked on the programme's content and provided content consultancy to Mediapro Max, owned by Uruguayan journalist Gastón Calcagno. Media coverage described him as a key figure in the programme's executive production.

In June 2026, Eyzaguirre was identified in media reports as being involved in Gonzalo Feito's departure from the programme following a dispute. Audio recordings dating from 2023 were subsequently made public in which Eyzaguirre insulted Feito, accused him of disloyalty and told him that he would no longer appear on the programme. Eyzaguirre said that the dispute predated the incident and questioned the disclosure of private conversations. Feito, for his part, said that his involvement in a new streaming project had contributed to the breakdown in their relationship. Following Feito's departure, Felipe Bianchi took over as presenter of the programme.
