About Sara Bannerman
Sara Bannerman is a full professor and Canada Research Chair at McMaster University's Department of Communication Studies and Media Arts. She also received a bachelor's in music from Queen's University.
Research Bannerman's research examines the power relationships between digital platforms and the state, especially privacy and platform regulation. She was a governing board member of the International Society for the Theory and History of Intellectual Property.
Bannerman has published over 40 papers, which have been cited over 450 times.
In 2025, she expressed concerns over the Bill C-4 Proposal.
