About Rory Naismith

Born 1983. Rory Naismith is a historian.

As an undergraduate and postgraduate Naismith studied in the department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Trinity College, Cambridge between 2002 and 2009, and between 2009 and 2015 pursued postdoctoral research at the Fitzwilliam Museum and was based at Clare College, Cambridge. He subsequently lectured for four years at King's College London before returning to the University of Cambridge. His book Making Money in the Early Middle Ages won the 2025 Otto Gründler Book Prize.
