Rob Enderle

Rob Enderle (born July 27, 1954 in Corona, California) is an American technology analyst. He is the principal analyst of the Enderle Group, a boutique technology advisory firm he founded in 2003.

Early life and education Enderle was born in Corona, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach, in 1977 and a Master of Business Administration in 1984. After GiGa was acquired by Forrester Research in 2002, he worked at Forrester until he left in 2003 and founded his firm, the Enderle Group.

Enderle writes columns for technological publications, including Forbes, TechNewsWorld, IT Business Edge, Digital Trends, TechSpective, Medium, TGDaily, SD Times, and HPCwire. He serves as a contributor to Torque News, focusing on advanced automotive technology and electric vehicles.

He sat on several advisory councils, including those for Lenovo, AMD, Lifeboat Foundation, and HP. He has worked as an advisor for Microsoft. Dell, IBM, Siemens, and Intel, among other companies.

Enderle has contributed to the World Talent Economy Forum as a podcast host and panel participant, discussing the effects of artificial intelligence and automation on employment and skills development.

Enderle has commented on technology companies and industry practices. In 2007, he expressed skepticism about the iPhone’s long-term prospects and raised concerns about distracted driving. In the late 1990s, he argued that economic factors contributed to the limited presence of non-Windows PCs during discussions of Microsoft’s licensing practices. Some technology media have questioned his objectivity, particularly regarding Microsoft.

Personal life Enderle lives in Bend, Oregon, with his wife, Mary. His interests include automobiles and video games, and he has served as a moderator of the US Jaguar Forum.
