Richard Taite

Richard Taite is an American entrepreneur and founder of substance abuse treatment centers. He founded the residential treatment center Cliffside Malibu and Carrara Treatment Wellness and Spa in Malibu, California.

Early life

Taite grew up in Encino, California in a home he has described as abusive. In 2018, Cliffside Malibu had grown to 80 beds and Taite sold it to Discovery Behavioral Health for a sum he described as in the “very low nine figures.”

As part of the sale of Cliffside Malibu, Taite signed a five-year noncompete clause and Malibu. Taite co-authored a 2025 book titled Experiencing Transcendence: The Freedom of Recovering from Addiction and Trauma. that covers issues of addiction and behavioral health.
