Rebwar Karim

Rebwar Karim Mahmood ( / ) (Born March 17, 1981) is an Iraqi Kurdish politician who is a member of The Iraqi Council of Representatives and an active member of the National Stance Movement (Halwest).

Early life Karim was born on March 17, 1981, in Sulaymaniyah, Ba'athist Iraq.

Prior to his political career he worked as an assistant professor in the University of Sulaimani.

Education Karim holds a doctorate in political science, international relations.

In 2024, after the establishment of the National Stance Movement Karim became a member of the party. In the 2025 Iraqi parliamentary election he was in the party's list in Sulaymaniyah. Karim won 6,441 votes and secured a seat in the Iraqi Parliament for its sixth term.

Second deputy speaker On December 29, 2025, for the sixth term of the Iraqi parliament, Karim ran for the second deputy speaker of parliament. Karim first ran against Kurdistan Democratic Party's Shakhawan Abdulla then later PDK's Farhad Atrushi.

First round In the first round of the election, Karim ran against PDK's Shakhawan Abdulla. Karim received 153 votes and Shakhawan Abdulla received 119 votes.

Second round Due to neither candidates receiving the 166 needed votes, the election went to a second round. In the second round Karim received 156 votes and Abdulla received 103. In results, the election was delayed.
