Peter Fricker

Peter Allen Fricker,, to Lyall Petrie Fricker and Lourdes Victoria. His father had a distinguished career in education on Australia. He has three brothers and a sister. He married Robyn Dennis. In 1974, he completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at University of New South Wales. Whilst undertaking his medical degree, he took an interest in sports medicine

Sporting teams In his early medical career in Canberra, he was the sports physician for the Canberra City Soccer Club (1977–1978) and Canberra Cannons basketball team (1979–1996). He has served on the Australian Olympic Committee's Medical Commission since 1993.

Sports medicine Fricker has contributed to sports medicine in Australia and internationally through several roles and was a member of the Australian Sports Drug Medical Advisory Committee and the Anti Doping Research Panel from 2000 to 2005.

Recognition 1993 – Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to sports medicine. 2004 – Bulletin Magazine's Smart 100 List. 2009 – Fellow of the Australasian College of Sports Physicians.
