Navin Murshid

Navine Murshid (, born 1981) is a Bangladeshi–American political scientist, academic, and human rights activist. She serves as a professor in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, while holding a tenured associate professorship in political science at Colgate University in New York, United States. Beyond academia, Murshid is recognized for her public advocacy during the July 2024 mass uprising in Bangladesh, where she supported student protesters and condemned state repression.

Early life and education Murshid was born in 1981.

She has conducted field research on the Rohingya refugee population in Bangladesh She has also contributed to public discourse through media outlets such as The Washington Post, The Hindu, and The Daily Star.

She has appeared on international media platforms including the BBC Bengali Service, Deutsche Welle, and Bangladesh Television and the other satellite television channels in bangladesh to discuss political developments in Bangladesh and advocate for human rights.
