Michael Grassi

Michael Grassi is a Canadian born screenwriter, He is also known for working across genres including sitcom Schitt’s Creek, supernatural series Lost Girl, teen musical dramedy Katy Keene, and medical drama Brilliant Minds. Grassi also has a strong working relationship with television producer Greg Berlanti who helped him create Katy Keene and Brilliant Minds. Grassi then built a strong working relationship with Greg Berlanti and as a result Berlanti Productions. Grassi created his first program, Katy Keene, under the Berlanti Productions shingle. Katy Keene followed the eponymous Katy Keene as she and her friends tried to achieve success in the fashion industry of New York City. The show was cancelled after one season. In 2024, Grassi and Berlanti once again collaborated to create the show Brilliant Minds which NBC ordered to series. Grassi was also the showrunner for the show. Brilliant Minds was based on the life, and work of unconventional neurologist Dr. Oliver Sacks. The show was cancelled in 2026 after two seasons.

Personal life

Grassi married actor and writer Matthew McConkey on May 7, 2022. They married in Ojai, California. Grassi is an avid runner, hiker, and boxer.
