Career Caponi competed at the 2018 Mediterranean Games and won a gold medal in the 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the 200 metre freestyle.

In June 2026, she competed at the Italian Open Water Championships and finished in second place with a time 1:58:17.6 and qualified to represent Italy at the 2026 European Aquatics Championships. During the European Championships she won a bronze medal in the 10 km open water event with a time of 2:08:03.4.
