Lee-Jen Wei was an American statistician and biostatistician.
Lee-Jen Wei is a Taiwanese-American biostatistician who is a professor of biostatistics at Harvard University.
Education Wei graduated from Fu Jen Catholic University with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1970. He then earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1975.
Academic career Before joining the faculty of Harvard University, he was a tenured Professor of Biostatistics and Statistics at the University of South Carolina, University of Wisconsin–Madison, the University of Michigan, and the George Washington University from 1982 to 1991.
In 1999 he was awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award of Fu Jen Catholic University.
Professor Wei was named “Statistician of the Year” in 2007 by the Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association. which is one of the most prestigious awards among all the international statistical societies.
