Lalith Gamage

Lalith Gamage, MBCS, MIEE is a Sri Lankan academic. He is a professor, currently serving as the president and CEO of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, a position he has held since the beginning of the institute in 1999. He has also served as the chairman of the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies. As a leading Sri Lankan academic in the field of Computer Science, Prof Gamage has played an important role in the development of IT education, research and industry in Sri Lanka.

Education and research Educated at St. Aloysius College, Galle, Gamage gained his BSc in Engineering from the University of Moratuwa after which he gained and MSc from the University of Leicester and a PhD from the University of British Columbia. His research areas include computer vision, computational intelligence and robotics. Japanese Space Agency research award.
