Khaled Kteily

Khaled Kteily is a Canadian business executive who is the founder and chief executive officer of Legacy, a company focused on male fertility testing and sperm preservation.

Education Kteily was educated at McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce. He subsequently attended the Harvard Kennedy School, where he studied public policy.

Career Kteily joined the consulting firm Oliver Wyman in Toronto as a consultant in its healthcare and life-sciences practice. He worked at the firm as an advisor to clients in the healthcare and life-sciences sectors. He also undertook volunteer consulting work with UN Women, where he worked on issues concerning women's entrepreneurship in the Middle East. He left consulting to pursue public policy studies at Harvard. Following his studies at Harvard, he joined the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. He served as a Global Leadership Fellow and later as a senior manager working on Middle East and North Africa initiatives. His responsibilities included managing relationships with government officials, business leaders and entrepreneurs and developing initiatives relating to entrepreneurship in the Arab world.

Kteily founded Legacy after an experience involving sperm freezing. While studying at Harvard University, he learned about the possibility of freezing sperm after a friend was diagnosed with cancer. He subsequently underwent the process himself and described the experience as difficult and uncomfortable. The experience contributed to his decision to develop a service focused on male fertility and fertility preservation. Legacy was initially developed through the Harvard Innovation Labs. The company provided at-home sperm collection, testing and cryogenic storage, allowing customers to submit samples without initially visiting a conventional fertility clinic. Legacy had expanded its services beyond semen analysis and sperm storage to include sperm DNA fragmentation testing, sexually transmitted infection screening, telehealth consultations and fertility-related services.
