About Josef Rovenský

Lived 1894 – 1937 (aged 43). Josef Rovenský was a Czech screenwriter, film director, stage actor, film actor, actor and director.

Josef Rovenský (17 April 1894 – 5 November 1937) was a Czech-Jewish film actor and director. He appeared in 74 films between 1914 and 1936. He starred in the 1929 film Father Vojtech, which was the directorial debut of Martin Frič. He died during filming of Virginity. According to Otakar Vávra he died of a cocaine overdose. His last film was then completed by Jan Sviták.
