Hamuza Sengooba

Hamuza Sengooba (born 2 February 2008), also known as Hamza Sengooba, is a Ugandan footballer who plays as a defender for Danish club AGF and has represented the Uganda under-17 national team. He started at El Cambio Academy in Masaka, Uganda, before joining AGF in 2026.

Early life and development Sengooba developed as a footballer at El Cambio Academy in Masaka. The academy operates through a partnership with AGF, providing a pathway for Ugandan players to train and develop within the Danish club's system.

Sengooba also played for Masaka Sunshine before moving to Denmark. He was part of a group of El Cambio players who travelled to Denmark for trials at AGF during 2025.

Club career AGF On 9 December 2025, AGF announced that Sengooba and fellow Ugandan player James Bogere had signed longer-term agreements with the club. They were scheduled to join AGF's under-19 squad from February 2026, becoming the first players from El Cambio Academy to sign formal contracts with AGF.

He subsequently continued playing for the AGF youth setup alongside Bogere. In March 2026, the pair were reported as having scored in AGF's U19 victory over Esbjerg fB.

Before the World Cup, Sengooba was part of the Uganda Cubs team that qualified for the tournament through the 2025 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations. He was among four El Cambio players who later travelled to Denmark for AGF trials, alongside James Bogere, Isma Magala Mulala and Elvis Torach.

Playing position Sengooba primarily plays in defensive positions. AGF's talent department described him as a defensive player and highlighted his leadership qualities, noting that he captained Uganda's under-17 team.
