Borders attended Moorestown Friends School.

1991 Academy Awards-Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Award shared with Gary Rydstrom. Won. 1994 Academy Awards-Forrest Gump. Nomination shared with Randy Thom. Lost to Speed.
