George S. Oldfield was an economist.

George S. Oldfield is a financial economist. He has been published extensively, and is cited for his work on the effects of a firm's unvested pension benefits on its share price published in the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking in 1977.

Education Oldfield holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also earned an A.B. in economics from the College of William and Mary. He is the 2002 recipient of the Business Week Business School Survey "Master Teacher" award.
