About Eberechi Dick
Eze Eberechukwu N. Dick is a Nigerian traditional ruler and businessman who is the Eze Udo I of the Mgboko Ngwa Amaise Kingdom in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State. He has served in several leadership positions within traditional institutions in Nigeria, including as Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council and Chairman of the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers.
Traditional leadership
Dick ascended the throne of the Mgboko Ngwa Amaise Kingdom in 1997 as the Eze Udo I.
In 2013, he was elected Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, serving until the council was dissolved in 2019 by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
In 2015, Dick was elected Chairman of the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers, a position he held until 2020.
Academic appointments
Dick served as Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna from 2014 to 2020.
In 2021, he was appointed Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru, where he has advocated increased funding for Nigerian universities and reforms in higher education.
