Du Xuliang

Du Xuliang (; born September 1971) is a Chinese politician serving as deputy secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Committee of Hangzhou and mayor of Hangzhou since June 2026. Previously, he served as director of the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, director of the Zhejiang Department of Justice, and executive vice mayor of Shaoxing.

Biography Du was born in September 1971 in Yiwu, Zhejiang. Between September 1989 and July 1993, he studied law at the Renmin University of China, where he received a Bachelor of Laws degree. He entered the workforce in July 1993 and joined the Chinese Communist Party in December 1996.

After graduation, Du held a number of legal and administrative positions in Zhejiang Province. He served as a secretary at the General Office of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang People's Congress, a researcher with the Office of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Zhejiang People's Congress Standing Committee, and later held senior positions in the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, including director of the Department of Regulations and director of the Department of Fixed Asset Investment.

In September 2018, Du was appointed deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission. At the same time, he concurrently served as deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Government Office in Beijing. In April 2021, he was transferred to Shaoxing, where he became a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party Committee and executive vice mayor. In December 2021, Du was promoted to deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Shaoxing. He also served as secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Shaoxing Municipal Committee and director of the Municipal Social Development Committee.

In September 2022, Du was appointed Party secretary and director of the Zhejiang Department of Justice. He concurrently served as the first political commissar of the Zhejiang Provincial Prison Administration. In March 2023, Du became Party secretary and director of the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

In May 2026, Du was appointed deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Hangzhou, deputy mayor, acting mayor of Hangzhou, and Party secretary of the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government. On June 26, 2026, he was elected mayor of Hangzhou by the seventh session of the 14th Hangzhou Municipal People's Congress.
