About Dhokal Singh

Dhokal Singh was the Raja of Panna from 1785 until his death in 1798.

Biography

He was the youngest of three sons of Hindupat Singh. After the death of his brother, Anirudh Singh in 1779, he was installed on the throne of Panna by Beni Singh and Khemraj in 1785. They installed him because he was a minor, which allowed them to wield power during his minority. During his reign, the whole of Bundelkhand fell prey to Himmat Bahadur and Ali Bahadur, a grandson of Bajirao Peshwa.
