Dennis Holt

Dennis Holt (born June 3, 1958) is an American drummer, percussionist, and singer. He was the drummer for the Christian rock band AD. In addition to his work with AD, he has also played drums as a touring drummer and session drummer since the 1970s. Artists he has collaborated with include Kansas, Kerry Livgren, Joe Nichols, Taylor Swift, Lee Brice, and Chase Rice.

Early life Holt was born on June 3, 1958, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He first started playing the drum set at age nine. Throughout middle school and high school, he played drums and percussion in the school marching band and orchestra. Impressed by Holt's drumming and Christian faith, Livgren hired Holt for his Christian rock band, AD. Holt played drums and percussion and sang vocals on the albums Time Line, Art of the State, Reconstructions, AD Live, Decade, and Reconstructions: Reconstructed, and toured across the United States with AD in 1984 and 1985. Livgren and Holt remain friends today.

Personal life Holt is a Christian. He has often played the drums on mission trips around the world.
