About Denis Laktionov

Born 1977. Denis Laktionov is a Russian and South Korean association football player and association football coach.

Denis Vladimirovich Laktionov (; born 4 September 1977) is a Russian football coach and former player who is the manager of Media Football League club FC 10. A versatile midfielder, he played the majority of his professional career in South Korea, where he became a naturalized citizen in 2003 under the name Lee Seong-nam.

Club career Laktionov began his senior career in the Russian Far East with Sakhalin Kholmsk in 1994, scoring 25 goals in 59 appearances as a teenager.

In 1996, he moved to South Korea to join Suwon Samsung Bluewings in the K League. During his first spell with Suwon, Laktionov established himself as one of the premier foreign players in South Korean football, helping the club secure back-to-back K League championships in 1998 and 1999, as well as two consecutive Asian Club Championship titles in 2001 and 2002.

In 2003, Laktionov transferred to Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, winning his third K League title in his debut season with the club. In July 2003, he legally acquired South Korean citizenship and adopted the Korean name Lee Seong-nam (이성남), referencing the city of Seongnam. Following a brief loan spell at Busan I'Park in 2005, he returned to Suwon Samsung Bluewings for the 2006–2007 seasons.

In December 2007, Laktionov returned to domestic Russian football, signing a two-year contract with Sibir Novosibirsk in the Russian First Division. After leaving Sibir in 2009, he made a brief appearance for Tom Tomsk in 2011 before ending his playing career following a stint with Gangwon FC in 2013.

International career While not selected for the final Russian tournament squad, Laktionov was included in the preparation squad and training camp for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He earned two senior caps for the Russia national team in 2002, making his debut on 17 May 2002 in a friendly match against Belarus. He also previously represented the Russia Olympic and Under-21 teams between 1998 and 1999.

Managerial career After retiring as a player, Laktionov transitioned into coaching, initially working as an assistant coach at Tom Tomsk and Sibir Novosibirsk. In 2019, he was appointed head coach of FC Rodina Moscow, guiding the team during its initial developmental years in the Russian Professional Football League until 2021.

He subsequently managed Latvian Higher League club Riga FC in 2021 and Cypriot outfit Akritas Chlorakas during the 2023–2024 season, before taking over as manager of FC 10 in 2025.

Personal life His cousin Aleksandr Laktionov was also a professional footballer. His son, Nikita Laktionov, made his professional football debut in 2019 while playing for FC Rodina Moscow during his father's managerial tenure at the club.
