Career

Morrissey attended St. Raphael's College in Loughrea and played hurling at all levels during his time there. Morrissey made his senior team debut in a National Hurling League game against Carlow in February 2019. He claimed his first senior silverware in 2021, when Galway shared the National League title with Kilkenny. Morrissey was team captain when Galway beat Dublin by 4–29 to 4–15 to win the Leinster SHC title in 2026.

Morrissey was named as the new Galway captain ahead of the 2026 season.
