Bethan Davies

Bethan Joan Davies is a British glaciologist and Professor of Glaciology at Newcastle University.

Education Davies studied geography at the University of Nottingham, graduating with a BA in 2001. She completed an MSc in Quaternary Science at Royal Holloway, University of London in 2004. She was awarded her PhD in Quaternary Geology from Durham University in 2009.

Career Davies joined Newcastle University in 2022 as Senior Lecturer in Glaciology. She was appointed to the chair in Glaciology in 2024. Her main research interest is the interaction between glaciers and climate over multiple timescales.
