Art Best

Arthur Robie Best (March 18, 1953 – October 14, 2014) was an American professional football running back who played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Chicago Bears and New York Giants. He was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round of the 1977 NFL draft. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame and Kent State University.

Early life Arthur Robie Best was born on March 18, 1953, in Camden, New Jersey. He grew up in Gahanna, Ohio and attended Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus, Ohio.

Professional career Best was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round, with the 156th overall pick, of the 1977 NFL draft, and thereafter signed with the team. He also played in one playoff game that season.

Personal life Best worked as a construction project manager after his NFL career.
