Anton Sammut

Anton Sammut (born 1970 ) is a Maltese author of philosophical works on consciousness, spirituality and metaphysics, as well as novels.

Career

Sammut's Memories of Recurrent Echoes (2009), translated from Alte Vestiga by , is a novel set in Bavaria, Germany, between 1890 and 1990. Noel Grima of The Malta Independent wrote that the novel presents history as a repeating cycle.

Philosophy Sammut's philosophical writings focus on questions of consciousness and spirituality. In The Philosophy of Cosmic Spirituality (2014), he discusses what he calls "cosmic spirituality" and similarities between the teachings of the Buddha and Jesus. Sandra Abela wrote in the Times of Malta that Consciousness: The Concept of Mind and the Transcendence of Conventional Thought (2016) discusses metaphysics, epistemology and transpersonal philosophy.
