Andreas Huss

Andreas Huss (born 15 October 1950) is a Swiss chess International Master (IM), Swiss Chess Championship winner, Chess Olympiads individual medalist (1976, 1982).

Biography From the begin 1970s to the mid-1990s, Andreas Huss was one of the leading Swiss chess players. In 1970/71, in Groningen he ranked 11th in 9th Niemeyer Chess Tournament. In 1983 Andreas Huss won Swiss Chess Championship.

Andreas Huss played for Switzerland and Switzerland-2 in the Chess Olympiads: In 1970, at first reserve board in the 19th Chess Olympiad in Siegen (+2, =3, -1), In 1976, at fourth board in the 22nd Chess Olympiad in Haifa (+5, =3, -2) and won individual silver medal, In 1978, at first reserve board in the 23rd Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires (+3, =3, -3), In 1980, at third board in the 24th Chess Olympiad in La Valletta (+1, =2, -5), In 1982, at fourth board in the 25th Chess Olympiad in Lucerne (+6, =2, -2) and won individual bronze medal, In 1984, at first reserve board in the 26th Chess Olympiad in Thessaloniki (+3, =4, -3), In 1994, at second reserve board in the 31st Chess Olympiad in Moscow (+4, =3, -2).
