Andrea Robin Wood (born March 2, 1973) is an American attorney serving as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Early life and education
Wood was born March 2, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago in 1995 and a Juris Doctor in 1998 from Yale Law School.
Federal judicial service
On May 6, 2013, President Barack Obama nominated Wood to serve as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, to fill the vacancy left by Judge William J. Hibbler, who died on March 19, 2012. The United States Senate confirmed her nomination on October 14, 2013 by voice vote. She received her commission on October 15, 2013.
